I simply went to my GP and said "I think I'm depressed" then burst into tears, I think a good GP will know what to ask and/or do when someone presents with depression.

I hope you find the strength to go, it often helps to write a few important things down to take with you

I agree with Zaf. Just go in and explain how you have been feeling. Write a few points down to take with you, as its easy to forget what you need to say. I also burst into tears when I went in :(. Depression is very common and I am sure your Dr will understand. S x x x x

Hi, Danny.

I would mention the mood swings to your GP, perhaps create a mood chart then you might see a pattern.

All the best.

When I used to go and see my doctor, he would just pass me his box of tissues because i was in tears as soon as i walked in and he never got much sense out of me. Writing stuff down is a good idea. Can you make an appointment with another doctor at your practice?
