Had my CBT telephone consultation today
« on: February 03, 2012, 06:19:57 PM »
Had my 20 minute assessment today. It was mainly a list of questions over how I've been feeling in the last two weeks. On a scale of 1-10 type thing. She then talked about options which were a collective classroom type session around ways to influence your behaviour and mood, something similar but computer based or one-to-one  sessions which is what I've initially asked for.

She talked about Relate and talking to them about my relationship and she called me back later on once she'd spoken to her boss and gave me some details about a group to talk to about drinking. I should get to see someone on the CBT side in about 2 weeks.

I don't know what good it's all going to do. I think I know what the issue is and what the potential solution is but not sure the solution is an option. Right now a bottle of red wine to numb the pain seems like the best option  $%$ and if that has long term health effects then that's probably a good thing and will get me out of this situation quicker. Sorry, it's been a bad day. I know I'm not the only with with problems.

I had my CBT assessment, it was face to face.  CBT sessions are done on the telephone, each week we go through 4 different questionnaires before the CBT starts. Only had one so far so will have to see how it goes. Xxx

I know it sounds daft, but at least you're in the system. Two weeks doesn't seem a bad wait, I had my initial assessment nearly a month ago and I'm still waiting for my first proper appointment (I'm consoling myself with CBT books from the library instead) but I'm pretty happy to be in the system on a list somewhere  ::)

I've never really done the drinking thing, I'm more likely to drown in an extra large bag of chocolate buttons  )_+ and in the long run that's not healthy either.  ;)

Hang on in there  &*(
