Title: Hello! My name is Tom.

My name is Tom and I live in Syracuse, New York, USA. I am 56 years old and I had my first break down in 2002. I have been hospitalized 5 times and have had 3 electro-convulsive threatments. I am now on 4 different medications for depression and for the most part they are "working". I am going to work hard not to go to the hospital this winter, which is when I usally go. I am challanged by the sundown affect, (my mood takes a free fall when the sun goes down), and seasonal affect, (my depression gets really going during the long winter months).

Anyway, it is good to have a place to vent and know that people know what I am talking about.

Hi Tom

I suffer from SAD too and my depression is always worse from December till around February.

Everyone here is very helpful and friendly and I'm sure will make you very welcome

Hi Tom and Welcome!

I don't post as often as I should as I've got quite involved with my church which does help with my depression.  I suffer with severe depression so some times of the year more than others.
