Title: :(
Post by: Gemma on September 02, 2011, 10:39:28 PM
Don't feel like I should be using this site anymore... I'm not as unwell as others using it.. And it doesn't matter anyway because I'm definately going crazy and I'm loosing the plot.
Seriously can't think straight.
Don't deserve to use the site anymore....

Gemma

I sometimes think that I'm not as ill as everyone else on here but I still need help. From my point of view everyone deserves to use the site no matter what's going through their minds. If it helps you then that's all that counts. Talk to us about what's going on with you and why you feel like you're going crazy.

I don't even know why I feel like it.. I've been feeling like I'm loosing my actual mind for a while now.. I have counselling next tuesday at 9 in the morning so that should help..
I don't even know anymore. I just feel like everything is falling apart. And it shouldn't be because I'm moving to university at the end of the month. It's just like everything is crumbling and it can't now because I'm getting help and I need to be strong.
Everyone else on here has genuine reasons for their illness and I don't even know why I feel how I feel. I just don't deserve this site.

Hey,

There doesn't have to be a reason for feeling depressed or like you're going mad. In fact I believe it can be worse to feel like it and not know why as then it's harder to understand. Going away to uni is a big thing so maybe it's the potential change that has got you upset or maybe it's just your time to be ill and there is no reason for it. I'm probably online for an hour or so, if you want to chat it through via these posts then am here to listen.

I've had the depression for about a year so its not the change.. I have no idea what it is.. I feel so lost and like I'm going nuts...

I'm sorry you don't have to listen to my ramble...

Gemma,

I'm no professional but I am happy to listen. Plenty of people have listened to me and I've found it helpful. Am more than happy to listen to you.

Ok so you're seeing a counsellor that's good. Have you spoken with your GP, are you on any meds?

Nick

the illness affects people in different ways, a some times i feel like i dont belong here (i do use a more specialized forum though) but i stay as its one of the warmest and most welcoming forums ive ever been on.

feel free to ramble and get things off your chest, its far easier to do it here than to people you know.

Uh I'm not on any meds I'm scared of what they'll do and I don't know if I should try counselling or not first... I obviously know nothing about depression other than I don't feel good :L

I don't know.. I think I'm just having a hard day... It might be better tomorrow..

Counselling can't hurt. It might be worth telling your GP how you are feeling. If he does put you on meds there is nothing to be afraid of, I would be in bits without mine.

my advice would be to go and see a councellor as you said it has been going on for a year. also maybe going to your GP and getting as much information on alternative therapies for depression he or she will be able to point you in the right direction. I would say try everything you can before turning to meds.

Smirfy makes a good point. There are also other therapies that the doctor may offer.

I'm honestly getting to the stage where I'm seriously considering meds. I thought it would've died down by now but it hasn't yet :/

just a thought also start keeping a mood diary it doesn't have to be pages long just a word or two to say how you have been feeling each day and why. That way you can start tracking what your triggers are if there are any.

Awwh that happened when my parents got divorced but then they had a cat each :)

The dogs I walk are also my parents dog as I've also lost my dog to the divorce. To be fair I'd get at least one of the cats but can't have a cat at my parents so that's just that. She hasn't given me any option over our dog though and I miss him lots.
