Title: anxiety with mitrazapine?
Post by: alex1973 on May 10, 2015, 07:37:38 PM
I am on 15-30 mg daily of mitrazapine now since Feb. It sedates me at night as in sends me to sleep but upon waking and throughout the morning and afternoon my anxiety levels seem high. I am convinced that is sedating me at night then the sedating effects wear off by the morning. The first time I was on it,it was giving me cold sweats and shaking in the morning.

I just wondered if anyone else has experienced this too?

I've got no experience of Mitrazapine so this is just a wild guess and should be discussed with your doc, but I'm wondering if the dose is too high or your body is reacting to something in the Mitrazapine or something like that?  I reckon you should print off your post and make an appointment with the doctor who prescribed it to see what they think... there might be a different sedative that doesn't make you anxious?   :chin:

Edit - aksherley, could you maybe take 15mg at night and the other 15 as soon as you wake up or does the 30mg have to be taken at the same time?  Whatever you do, don't mess with your meds until you've at least spoken to the prescriber!  I'm a patient, not a doc after all!

Thanks Amanda. Saw my doctor and he recommended I stay on them and assured me its not them causing me anxiety. No its not but I am convinced they are increasing it. Decided to go against his advice and just use 15 mg daily.

 if you want it, Alex?  I hope the 15mg helps you without worsening your anxiety... I'll be thinking of you!

Hi Alex, I've been wondering how you are.  I'm no expert either as I've never taken it.  Hope you start feeling better soon.
