Hi
I am on Escitalopram, and have been on it since 2006/7. I am wondering whether I will ever get off the things. It seems I can't really do without them, and wish that I didn't have to. I know the symptoms when I don't take them ( 3 days the longest period I went without it). It wasn't pretty. I hope i can 'do without' in the future..
Regards

Hi Lost,
sometimes people with depression have to take the meds all the time,
might be for many reasons, one could be your body does not produce whatever the tablets replace,
i know that coming off them cold turky is not a good thing, but it these meds are making you bad, talk with your doc about it, and they could try you on something else.

You may have to accept that you will always have to be on medication. It isn't a nice thought and I do understand as there are drugs I will always have to take.
Maybe having a chat with your doctor might help.

Nah I'm not going to accept that. Its 5mg not 40. Certain socio-economic factors are exacerbating things right now.
