Title: Answer a question / ask a question
Post by: Pip on February 03, 2014, 07:51:28 PM
This isn't a new idea as i was going through some old threads.  The idea is to answer the question then ask a question and to try and keep it positive.

I'll start by asking what is your favourite meal to make?

Whoever answers then asks a question.

I know Pip said keep it positive Stewart but sensible would be good too  ;) Can't tell you anyway because it is my turn to win this week!!

My favourite dish to make is Moroccan chicken. I love the smell when it is cooking and love eating the end result, it is not my favourite meal to eat though, so ......

What is you favourite meal to eat?

Difficult one to answer as I love all different types of food from Mediterranean through to Mexican through to Indian.  One of my favourites is grilled swordfish (Mediterranean style) with salad and chips.  It's quite healthy apart from the chips as well so that is a bonus.

What is your dream holiday?
Title: Re: Answer a question / ask a question
Post by: JC on February 05, 2014, 05:28:21 PM
Mmmm, sounds delicious! Fish/seafood is my favourite food and Paella is a particular favourite meal to eat.

I have been very fortunate in already having done one of my dream holidays, cruising the Mediterranean, North Africa and Canary Islands. I love the sea and boats/ships and waking up in a different destination each day was brilliant.

My other dream holiday is touring the deep south of the U.S.A., listening to Cajun, Blues and Bluegrass music and eating their amazing cuisine before moving on to New Orleans for Mardi Gras.

What is your favourite film and/or book and why?

Tough one to answer. If I know I am not going to like something I make a point of not watching but I suppose the worst ones for me are any of those Celebrity Strictly Come Dancing on Ice in the Jungle type programmes.

Q   what was the best book you ever read?
Title: Re: Answer a question / ask a question
Post by: JC on February 13, 2014, 07:03:41 PM
To Kill a Mockingbird - a story that is, at times, humorous but also very powerful and moving in the way it deals with racial inequality. It is now fifty four years since it was first published, and over thirty years since I first read it, but it helped shape my young mind and can still teach us a lot about prejudice, compassion and tolerance.

Who is your favourite composer, or musician?

Walking the dog this morning the birds were singing and I noticed the crocuses are coming up, which brought a smile to my face. Sometimes little things that cost nothing can often make us feel a bit better.

What simple thing makes you feel better or makes you smile?

Title: Re: Answer a question / ask a question
Post by: Pip on March 15, 2014, 10:53:06 PM
It would be a toss up between a Ford Zetec as we owned one a few years ago and it was a comfotable, economic car to run or a Ford Transit.  I like Fored Transits as I can sit comfortably in the driver's seat and see over the bonnet.

Post by: Pip on March 22, 2014, 01:40:14 PM
It depends on the day of the week.  Tuesday and Thursday I help with the lunch club so apart from walking the dog I stay in unless we have to get shopping in.  Sundays I'm at church twice then have a restful day.  On non busy rainy days I still have to do dog walking but other than that it's a good excuse to clean through our home, read, catch up on pragrammes / films / documentaries we have recorded and catch up on anything else we need to do.

Where did you have your best holiday?
Title: Re: Answer a question / ask a question
Post by: Pip on April 09, 2014, 11:06:48 PM
Germany.  I had a German penpal and was invited over for a holiday and it was great.  Her parents took us to different places including going to caves where bats live which is more interesting than it sounds.  It was quite funny at times as I saw British soldiers occasional and they tried talking to me in German.  They didn't expect me to come out with "Please speak to me in English."  I did manage to learn a bit of German while I was there.

To answer Pip's question. If I could pass one law it would be to ban students from our local university doing their shopping between the hours of 12.00 noon and 2.00pm, i.e. my lunch break!! Although, to be fair, I do appreciate how difficult it must be to fit the weekly shop into their hectic 12 hour a week lecture schedule  >:D

Depends, if it's food shopping I hate it as we usually do that after lunch club on Tuesdays.  If it's for pleasure / an excuse to go out I like shopping provided the shops aren't too busy.

What food do you hate?

It was after Dirty Den died in Eastenders for the first time.  Leslie Grantham was being interviewed on Terry Wogan's show or something and one of my nieces said 'But he's dead' with a bewildered look on her face.  In between the laughter my sister had to explain that the story line was only pretend and the man who played Dirty Den wasn't really dead.
