Title: newbie feeling pretty helpless

hi all. ive suffered from depression for 14yrs. My last bad episode was 10 years ago......until it bit me on the bum again 6mths ago. I take meds....which have been increased....seemed to work but then the last 10 days, have been awful.....wondering why my meds arnt working at the in? Worried about my family.....must be hard for them trying to cope with me like this. Feeling shattered, cant b bothered to talk, been in pjs all day and tomorrow starts the Monday grind again. All feels a bit pointless at the min "£$ute. Hoping its just a blip.

Hi Sam. Welcome to the forums. Sometimes meds need a little tweak for no obvious reason. Even a cold can change things. Just explain to your doc how you've been feeling. Best wishes. Michael.

Your meds could even be changed.

I hope you get somewhere on Friday too. I think there are 24 different anti-depressants on the market, so you and your GP have plenty of choice. I wish there was a way of knowing which of them would work for a particular person but other than actually trying one out there isn't. Good luck.

Hi sam, welcome to the forums.
as others have said, a tweak of your meds could help out there, increasing dose or trying one of the others out there, or even a combination of meds.

how well do you sleep? as this can also impact on how we feel.
