Title: Depression caused by illness
Post by: Friendless on September 17, 2010, 04:18:30 PM
I first had depression after having encephelitic chicken pox as a teenager. Although in the past I have been given many different antidepressant drugs none have been helpful. At the moment I am at my lowest point and cannot see any light at the end of the tunnel. Has anybody else had depression from an illness that has not responded to medication. I am being pressed to take by my G.P. but am reluctant because they have never worked for me and it makes me feel so awful as though I am making things up which is so far from true and as I keep going they think I am alright but I am not and don't know who to turn too.

I have a chronic illness which led to my depression. I was put on anti depressants which didn't work for many months.
I have changed to different ones various times. It has taken nearly two years to find any medication that works for me.
I think now i am finally getting through this depression with a combination of the medication. Stick with it and hopefully they
will find the right ones for you.
