It can take so much mental energy to drag ourselves through each day of depression.  During my worst depression, I was always convinced there was something more wrong with me.  The exhaustion and general muscular pain from head to toe, made me feel like I had some sort of virus.  Wakening feeling anxious is fairly standard with depression.  Maybe having a busy weekend and perhaps too much alcohol (or drugs) tend to make those complications feel worse.

Hope your week is kind to you

Mornings have always been the worst time of day for me, when I was really bad I would shake and be in a right state, then by the evening I was a different person.  I also thought every ache and pain was something awful.

Big  for you.

I was feeling the same on waking up, went to Dr about it and was put on diazapam for it (already on citralopram) seem to be ok in the mornings mostly now but it's tending to hit me later in the day now
