Hello there. +-_
This is my first post and so I thought I would just introduce myself.
I'm a 34 y/o female and have suffered with depression on and off since I was about 11. Obviously it wasn't know that I was suffering with' depression' when I was so young but now looking back the pattern is very clear. Sad to think I just always felt the way I felt was somehow my fault and I hid my feeling the best I could.
Roll on a few years and I have had periods of depression here and there but this last year and a half it has been more or less constant in varying degrees.
I am on Sertaline and have had CBT which unfortunately I didn't find too helpful. My doctor is now referring me to a psychologist which I am a little nervous about but I will try anything to get rid of these feelings.
It's very difficult trying to carry on as normal at work etc when all I really want to do is shut myself away from people so I don't have to do the smiley face pretence.
Anyway thanks for reading

Hi Shanks. Pleased you could post on the Forum. I wouldn't worry to much about seeing a Psychologist, I'm sure you'll find it very helpful. I was only saying to someone the other day how it often feels like the depression never truly goes away, each day only displays various degrees of it.
Hope the referral doesn't take too long
