Title: feeling worse in the morning
Post by: bb on September 23, 2012, 03:56:51 PM
Is this the norm , feeling worse in the morning.  I've planned my life around the morning being the time that I take things easy and keep everything to a minimum.  Anyone else feel worse in the morning?

Hi bb
Yes, I too often feel worse in the mornings. I have read that it is fairly common for people with depression and/or anxiety, to feel worsein the morning. I often feel fine, even really good, by the evening.
I tend to feel more anxious, when I do feel worse in the mornings. I have found that exercise first thing in the morning, has helped me. Obviously might not work for everyone tho.
What are your morning symptoms/ experience?

Just about enough energy to get out of bed to get kids to school then take it easy , I don't commit tks anything before midday.

I find mornings really hard too, I think it's a common thing.

I also have children and find they're the only thing that gets me up some days

Xxxx

That is the best thing to do. It took me a long time to realise this. Fighting against it I have found is not a good thing. Listen to your body and rest when you can.  S x x x x

Oh yes. Mornings are truly awful. I've always struggled to get up and my default setting is not to get up at all !! But, yes by the evening, I normally feel 'normal'. Now I'm back on the meds, I find it slightly easier but I never plan to do anything important 1st thing. Even with work I don't arrive til 09.30 and luckily this hasn't been a problem.

I am kinda strange then.

I feel ok most mornings and I am able to get up and go about my business but then find it hardest from mid afternoon to about 9pm.
After 9pm I come to life and then cant get to sleep.

I just try to work around it and plan things accordingly

Hi,yes i also have been finding it more difficult to get going in the morning,i used to always be a get up and go person, but since suffering with depression i have struggled to get motivated,i am still managing work everyday but some days find it a real effort to get there,so yes i would say mornings are the worst.
