Title: Things that interest you, but you don't know why.
Post by: Beetzart on August 15, 2012, 11:32:50 PM
I have this fascination with heavyweight boxing of the Muhammad Ali era, or roughly from about 1950 to 1995 say.  In general I couldn't give a damn about the sport, but something about those big fights in the 60s 70s intrigue me.  Like Ali v Frasier, and Ali v Foreman.  My uncle is a big boxing fan and loves talking about it, so perhaps that is it, but like I say I'm not interested in present day boxing.  Or it could be the amazing stories behind the fighters, how they rose from poverty to be the greatest, leaving others in their wake.  Afterall Ali was quite a character!  How he just stayed on the ropes against Foreman, with people screaming 'Get off the ROPES!' is beyond me.  Then wearing Foreman out and decking him, was just incredible.  Or the Thriller in Manila where both fighters nearly killed themselves and it had to be stopped after Frazier's eyes closed up, with Ali just shading it on points.

Anyone else have random interests?

Watching the Tour de France, am completely glued to it, to the extent that I sky plus if I'm going out all 3 or 4 hours each day. I don't worry about any other tours just that one.
