As St Johns Wort is a herbal anti-depressant I was advised to stop taking it immediately when I started taking anti-depressants from my Dr. S x x x x

Saint Johns wort is an anti depressant, and so if you take the two it is equal to taking two kinds of anti depressants at once. If you don't believe in the potency of saint Johns wort, then try feeding it to your cat and see what happens.
