That's good to hear Zee.  I've considered CBT myself.   I've gone back and forward to different counselors over the last 12 yrs, including group therapy.  You may only have had 6 weeks this time but you might also want some more in the future.

Good to hear CBT has been useful to you. I am starting CBT in a couple of weeks time and have been told that it will initially be 6 sessions but may be more if needed.

I think if I'd been offered it years before, it might have frightened the life out me.  I think several experience's in one to one therapy stands you in good stead for a group setting.  But as your saying says, "keep it simple"

I did CBT earlier this year for 6 weeks and it did help a bit, I did it online and via phone calls.  The down side was that it was when I broke my ankle and one of my problems is that I suffer with anxiety when I'm in crowded places such as shops.  Add being wheeled around supermakets etc stressed me out even more  :-[ as I couldn't hobble far on crutches.

I did CBT. Then did 2 courses with MIND, I did the anxiety course and self assertiveness course, both were free. I then went on to do counselling with them also. All of which I personally found to be a great help. S x x x x

In 15yrs, I've probably undergone therapy about 6 times, including group therapy.  Some of the therapy experiences, especially at beginning, were not positive and I did drop out a couple.  I think every time we go through therapy, we divulge a bit more about "our issues" each time.  I could never have went through with the group therapy, had I not had previous experience of analysing etc.  Like Zaf, I've been on a couple of courses.  Due to go on another 8wk 'Living Beyond Depression' course at the local Psychiatric hospital.

It's very much an individual thing, Zee... I hope you find something suitable
