Title: Midnight Memories
Post by: Maddymoo on June 27, 2012, 06:15:58 PM
Hi everyone, in 3 days time (sat 30th June) I will be doing the Bolton Hospice Midnight Memories Walk in memory of my mum and dad, who were both taken by cancer far too soon. Please please sponsor me! It can be as much or as little as you like, every penny counts :)

Nor me. I lost my dad to cancer 22 years ago. I have done the race for life twice in his memory. Haven't been able to do it the last couple of years because of my back. S x x x x

Your post is fine and good luck.

My dad is a cancer survivor - had stomach cancer 13 years ago.  One of my dad's cousins died of cancer about 27 years ago, my mum in law died of cancer in 1999 and Rick's dad died of cancer 29 years ago of it.

Good luck mamalou

My mum had cancer at 42, my Grandma had it at 39. Fortunately they both survived. I am waiting to see if I have the all clear from a biopsy a few weeks ago, I'm 38.

Every penny helps in detecting and curing it, so well done you

Oh Kate, I'll keep everything crossed for you :(

Thank you everyone :)

Cancer is horribly indescriminate, it pillages families. We lost my dad aged 39 on August 18th 1999, he had lung cancer which spread to his bones and leukaemia. We lost my mum aged 40 on 13th July 2007 to lung cancer. The hospice do an amazing job, and need all the support they can get.

Thank you for donating :)

I lost both my parents to cancer - my Mum when I was just 19 (she was only 50), my Dad four years later when he was just 59. I shall donate.

(done via Paypal I hope).

I did it! 2hrs 50mins :) it was torture towards the end because of my pelvis, and I couldn't really walk all Sunday. It was agony going to the loo! Better today though, just sore muscles. I have raised £70 so far, I'm hoping to nudge it up to £100 before I send the money in. We walked past the hospice and the staff and some patients were out cheering us on and thanking us, it was quite moving!

Just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who donated, I raised £100, and half that came from my online friends :-)
