Title: Mrmoody
Post by: Beetzart on May 06, 2012, 06:55:09 PM
Has anyone heard from Alex?  I know he was meant to see a doctor but he never posted back (not that I can find).  I hope everything is ok and that he is getting some help.

thats very kind that you both thought of me and I am very touched. Shaz and Zaf have been looking out for me lol! I am ok-ish. I decided to stay on mitrazapine after taking trazodone just once and feeling anxious on it and not been able to sleep. I go back to docs on Weds. also for a follow up and to see if I can get into secondary care which means getting a cpn or into cmht or something like that. thanks for caring. Alex

Glad you are getting the help you need, Alex.  Sometimes that can be quite hard, especially getting docs to realise how bad you are feeling.

Will be thinking off you tomorrow.

Saw one of the doctors this morning as he had agreed to sign a form for me (slight change of name) and he made me laugh which was a huge step for me in the right direction.

The NHS should provide it but there can be horribly long waiting lists sometimes :(

horribly long is right! 5 more weeks just to get an assesment from a counsellor, the 19th of June. He was nice enough but didnt suggest much, I mean I said it was better to stay on mitrazapine rather than try a new med and made the decision myself so it was hardly hard work for him. He decided to put me into primary care rather than secondary, the difference being in secondary you get a cpn and all that stuff. All I want is to see a counsellor. Now I know why people commit suicide, its because mental health isnt taken seriously and we have these ridiculous waiting times when people need help and need it NOW!!!

I think I waited about six weeks the first two times I needed to see a counsellor which was far too long imo

That's really bad Alex, have you considered contacting MIND?

In my area, I had my first cbt session the week after the assessment.

yes kate, I contacted MIND first and was told 6-8 weeks for an assesment and 6-9 months waiting after that
