i have another illness and all my friends have the same illness. we text and facebook each other every day. they know i have depression but they dont know how bad it has become. they keep texting asking me lots of questions, am i okay am i sure, blablabla i just want them all to leave me alone for a bit but i dont want to lose them. how can i get them all to back off without worrying them or telling them that im worse?
the minute i tell someone im worse they are wanting to get me help or to tell an adult (on the website i use for my other illness it encourages people to report anyone who is low or suicidal or at harm etc).
i just want them all to back off and leave me alone but if i tell them that i will lose them and thats something i dont want, how can i have the best of both worlds? i want to keep my mates but for them to leave me alone at the minute. yet i dont want to tell them whats wrong.
help?

I have the same thing...I'm asked daily how I am coping. It can feel tiring having to keep telling people that your OK etc. However, people mean well so I accept it. Some people no I am ill and they havnt spoken to me since. Its better that your friends care, personally I would be humble and polite and just accept it.
Thats my opinion only.

Difficult one, as Steve says it shows they care - dont ever tell them to leave you alone, would telling them you feel really tired and to forgive you if you dont respond as much as you usually do help?
