You have probably tried all of these, but its worth a go. I was told have a bath with lavender in. Then a warm milky drink like ovaltine. Don't watch tv, instead have the radio on low in the background. Also fresh bed linen. Sometimes I find sleeping with my head the other end of the bed helps.
Not sleeping is so frustrating. I hope you sleep well tonight. X

Sorry Icelolly no ideas. Sometimes I've read a boring book and that sends me off but it's not reliable. Xxx

Strangely enough interesting television often helps me

Actually it helps me too, I've often put a DVD on and woken up sometime during the night with the tv still on!!!

Thanks guys, I think I was just really looking for some sympathy so don't worry.
Ruth, I have tried lavender but I can't have milky drinks due to this dairy intolerance I might have. I will have to try the radio thing though :)
Off to the doctor tomorrow hoping she will be able to help me x

i hate not being able to sleep! its the worst thing everrr. not sure if you are one for medication? but if you dont mind taking tablets then sleep aid is brilliant. the biggest problem i have with it is it doesnt help me fall asleep but once im asleep i dont wake up. you can get it from chemists. iv gotten it from tesco chemist and superdrugs behind the counter. i know some people say it helps them fall asleep so might be worth giving it a go? its only a few £'s and i have found them better than prescribed ones
i tend to fall asleep between 3 and 5am and wake up at 8am so if you cant sleep feel free to email me and we can have a natter :)
good luck
