Title: do pain management courses work
Post by: lost rolex on March 26, 2012, 10:58:35 AM
Having a go at a PMC anyone been on one apparently they reduce your medication and deal with the psychological side of things as well to balance out some sort of recovery or better quality of life ????

don;t fancy the idea of medication reduction have only just been put on my 75 patch and this is a good balance at the moment.

is pain attached to psychological depression or is it pain and the circumstances of pain as i have it 6 fold

1, what happened to me, over those 14 months

2, how it affected me. ???? what about PTSD

3 and how i live with it.

4, how my Family live with it.

5, how it affected our whole life

6 and how it affected/affects the future.

I have never heard about this much. I dont really understand your post very well.

Whether or not your pain is related medical or caused by events, or by both, is something that is best decided by a psyhiartist and psychologist. This should be discussed with you.

Hope you are ok.

H stevie the pain is caused by the accident, the physiological damage was done by the guy in charge of me, would they have to unravel both these or are they interlinked, say if they sorted out my pain, would my physiological illness caused by him get better,

are there 2 definitions of the same thing here, i don't want them to experiment on me, as i see them as 3 separate issues.

1,the bullying and mobbing.

2, the accident, and them being oh so sorry after it. >:D

3 the ongoing problems we suffer every day.

I think psychotherapy could help you unravel it and give you some insight.

psycotheraphy willl address psychological issues. Physical pain.... it will give you ways of coping with it, perhaps. Whether or not you are clinically depressed due to an illness or as a result of external circumstance....this is best for professionals to decide. Even if you do have a clinical mental illness, it could well be treatable using a combination of therapy and medication. You goal is to get better and this should be acheivable, and hopefully will result also in an improvement for your family.

thanks stevie,

The problem i have is that i don't want them to lump it all together there are differences, i don't want them to lump it under a pain management umbrella which like Dr goods tonic cure's all ill's, from hair loss to broken bones  ;D

they do deal with physical pain, and bitterness around work issues and having to give up, but i am not sure about bullying and mobbing and possible violence that one they may have to put to one side, as i still do not except that it normal to be bullied at work on a scale i was, but hopefully this is a step in the right direction, i will also have to except i have to take less than i want to in my personal and working life i hope to to return to work but will it be substantial like my last job, i doute if it will i can not return to my old job for medical reasons.
