.... and am generally fed up which is why I have been quiet this week. On Tuesday I had my first minor panic attack this week while we were out shopping. A friend came with us and she knows I suffer with depression but it's the first time she's seen me like that. She suffers with panic attacks due to agoraphobia so was understanding. Since then I've had a couple more, each time in shops as they have been busy. I suffer with claustophobia which I've managed to control over the past few years.

Panic attacks are horrid Pip, are hey bad enough to see your GP to get something to help with them?

Thats awful for you pip, panic attacks are horrible and scarey. Have you started your new anti-depressants yet? If I remember right you said you were tapering of Citalopram so you could try a different one.
&*( for you.

I need to make another appointment with my doctor so will arrange that tomorrow morning. When I see her I will tell her about the panic attacks as they are getting me down and I'm getting to the stage of putting myself into situations where I know a lot of people are about. Tomorrow afternoon is going to be a bundle of laughs as I'm due back at the hospital to get the plaster cast removed. The only good thing about it is I can sit near the door so i can get outside quickly if I need to.

Panic attacks are awful, I had one whilst with the doctor last week. Very embarrassing but quite a good place to have one :)
But how fantastic will it be to have the plaster off :) :)

It will be so good to get the cast off I should think, hope you get through it ok.
Hope you get an appointment with your dr ok.
Take care

I've had a hectic week. My updates are thatit wasa relief to get the cast off and a splint on which I;m now only wearing when I go out for a bit of support. Stopped using the crutches after Sunday. I finally got round to ringing up the surgery for an appointment on Tuesday but we have a really stupid system with the surgery. It's a triage system so even though my GP wanted me to make another appointment I still had to wait for a callback. I was round at a friend's house by the time it came through and the reception is really bad there. When I got back there was a message on the answer phone to back on Wednesday. That meant I had to go through the whole performance of ringing up yesterday for another call back .... just what Ineed to improve my mood "£" . Anyway I've got an appointment on Monday.

&*( for you. So glad your cast is off. What a crazy system would have annoyed me too.
Take care

Glad the cast is off :)
Hope your panic attacks have reduced, I'm also a bit of a claustrophob (nasty childhood incident ::) ) so I feel your pain

Glad your cast is off Pip, I hope your appointment goes OK now you finally have one!

The panic attacks have eased off and I think having the cast off helps. I couldn't get around on the crutches quickly and when I used the wheelchair I was reliant on whoever was pushing me. Mind you I was a bit 'naughty' the last main shopping day with the cast on as I was getting up and getting stuff of the shelves £$% .
We have been out this morning and this afternoon we met a friend in town as we have got her three boys overnight. They are aged 8, 5 and 2 1/2 so now we are exhausted. We have had the youngest over before so we knew he would be good but the other two have been very good as well. The middle one has been so funny as he kept coming up to me and asking if he was being a good boy. Apparently he had been told that if he wasn't good I would ring 'Mum' and he would be sent home nor would he be allowed to come back. I know he was telling the truth, it was just very funny the way he came out with it. I know his mum has had a few behavioural problems with him so was a bit worried about him behaving.

Aaahh bless him. Iremember giving my boys warnings like that when they were young :).
So glad that the panic attacks have eased for you, they are not nice.
Hope your appointment goes ok on Monday.

Sorry to read that you have been having panic attacks. I am assuming that you know how to deal with them.
