Its me again, Harry. I feel quite low most of the time but for some reason I seem to be feeling even lower. I was away for xmas (on my own) and felt somewhat better but still depressed. I get irritated easily, don't have any energy/motivation/enthusiasm for anything. Even if I won a million quid it wouldn't cheer me up. I don't have that many friends so it may be isolation. I can't carry on like this. Happy new year

Harry these feelings are very common of depresion. Just remind me again, are you on AD's??

Hi Lol, i'm not on meds and never have been. I don't want to take any (even though some probably would help). Just wish I wasn't alone

Harry, would you refuse to take meds if you needed insulin for diabetes or something for a chronic heart condition? Its exactly the same taking antidepressants, they replace chemicals your body needs to keep healthy.
I'm sure isolation/ lonliness and depression become a vicious circle so perhaps getting on meds and possibly seeing a counsellor would help xx

I agree with Zaf Harry. You are not allowing yourself to feel any better by not correcting what you suffer from. You may be more inclined to make sure you are less alone if you make sure you treat your illness safely and effectively.
Have another think about going to your GP and starting affective treatment. The other option is stay as you are.

Cheers for the advice. Its the side effects I worry about. I wanted to buy some de-stressing tablets (the non-prescription ones) but the side effects listed depression, so that put me off.
