Feet - as in the things at the end of your legs not the measurement

I know this is going to sound like a joke but it's a genuine question that's got me confuzzled.

Do your feet shrink as you age?  I'm 38 and usually wear size 6 shoes, but that size is loose on me now... should I maybe see if I can get a cheap pair of size 5.5's to see if they fit me better?

It's only been in the last couple of months that I've noticed it, but is old age kicking in already?
