Why can't my friends and family understand me??

I'm exhausted!

I just want people to understand that my every day life is such a struggle. Why can't people understand that I don't like leaving the house, why I panic at the thought of socialising, why I struggle to do the housework etc etc. The list is endless!

I can't seem to get my point across. I'm struggling to communicate with the people that I love the most.

I agree people that have never suffered from depression find it hard sometimes to understand why we just cannot do the normal things in life.

reading books written by other ppl that have suffered depression helps a lot

I know exactly how you feel :( my parents and my friends don't really understand what I am going through. I constantly get told to 'get a grip' or 'shup up moaning' and it makes me feel really hurt.

I agree with kate that this forum is a massive help, I can rant and moan away on here and people understand and sympathise.

This forum has definitely been a help for me too. Although I have been feeling a bit withdrawn from everything recently so I haven't posted for a while.

I suppose I am thinking that everyone has down days so they must understand that I have one down day after another after another... I think I am still kidding myself about how ill I am and how much I need to change my way of thinking.

Glad to be back on here. Will look you all up sometime soon.

I know the feeling, people who we are close to do not understand how we are feeling unless they have been through it them selves, I find it very frustrating because I don't feel listened to anymore.

I hope this forum will help :) everyone seems nice here
