I also paint and draw to relax, although when im really low i cant do anything. Time just slips away, i love it when i get the motivation to do it. I wrote alot over the summer but since iv been feelign how i am im finding it difficult. I do a bit, iv actually got a monologue and two plays to finish but i just cant summon up the energy at the moment. Im currently doing crafts because it reminds me when i was a kid. And its absorbing, where as painting i trying to put the inside onto the canvas, crafting your just making something that doesn't really have much meaning other than to look good. Of course this is crafting in my experience, i wouldn't want to claim that other peoples crafts don't mean anything.

I know exactly what you mean  :) Before all of this I wrote, a lot.... I have 4 full length novels I have yet to do anything with and countless short stories... But writing and reading kind of went out the window  :-\ Along with my memory, concentration, self belief and motivation!!
I have finally sent off a childrens story to a publisher - after much encouragement and nagging from everyone else!  :P

Drawing though... I find so therapeutic!  The artwork I do is very intricate and detailed (my OH says some are like some sort of OCD fingerprint!) There are a few few scans in this album: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150200471084364&l=02135f9e3b if anyone is on Facebook :)

This too shall pass.

Thats really impressive, it would be fantastic to have a huge one on a feature wall :)

im not sure if you can access this due to my privacy settings. I love doing intricate work, This piece has taken me well over 20 hours of work, but its great as you get lost in it.

Today is a good day so i may even finish a painting i have on the go, or i could sleep some more....hmm maybe sleep and then painting

Thanks Zaf - I am quite proud of that one *blushes* it made it onto being stuck on the fridge rather than just stuffed into a folder and forgotten about  :P

I can't open it either.... probably privacy settings....

Sleep and then painting sounds like a good plan!  ;)

I like it though the proportions are all out, i think il try another on like it with a bit more realism.  heres my portfolio of other work. Though i don't like a lot of the work here, some of its really amateurish, but some were done a few years ago and iv developed my skills alot more since, especially with painting. Im VERY critical of my own work unfortunately.

thank you. I dont like them because im very critical and a complete perfectionist, hence one of the reasons im prone to depression.

;D the profile pic isnt me, although id love to own an outfit like that. I suppose i do look a bit similer. il make a picture on my profile public if you want to see my face but its not that interesting, i dont own any antique guns unfortunately.

Thank you all for your compliments xx ^&^
