Vivid dreams while on Mitazepam
« on: October 01, 2012, 10:34:33 AM »
Hi does anyone else have really vivid dreams while of antidepressants.  I have recently stated taking mitazepam and I have weird and wonderful dreams not nightmares but very happy and pleasent dreams, get very annoyed with cats when they wake me in the middle of one looking for food lol.  I was on citalepram before and never had any noteworthy dreams.
Just wondering if this part and parcel of this tablet

Thanks

hi turquoise

i've been on mitazepam for a few months now and i also have very vivid and usually not unpleasant dreams although sometimes it has been such that i wasn't sure which was the dream and which was reality but as side effects go i can't really complain

I have always had very vivid dreams from AD's.  If I'm feeling okay, the dreams are good, but having a bad time usually spills over into nightmares.  It's odd, when on Citalopram, my dreams were always somewhere around the same seaside village.  A few months ago, I changed AD's to Mirtazapine and so did the location of my vivid dreams; now I dream I'm in another village or town

Catb that is odd, my dreams are not centered around anywhere but are full of all my dead relatives which can be a bit odd as I know they are dead and get concerened that they are allowed to drink tea.  It is not frightening as I seem to be quite happy talking to people now are no longer alive.  I also dream about my ex husband a lot which is more scary lol.

THANK GOD it is not just me.

I had one the second night I was on it and well to say it was Vivid would be an under statement.

I've been on antidepressants for over 4 years. Every night I dream vividly. Not had a single morning where I woke up and didn't remember my dream.

I had the same, my GP said it was to do with the way the meds worked on your brain chemistry.

Yes, I love my vivid dreams, sometimes they are amazing

Turquoise, that is strange dreaming about your dead relatives..... and I laughed about them drinking tea.  Had visions of them all sitting round a table in the spirit world, drinking cups of tea :D
