I've always been arachnophobic, ever since I was a small child and my mum telling me about being bitten by a spider and it becoming infected <shudder>
Ever since Steve was rushed to hospital on 10th December last year I've always dreaded a spider appearing and having to deal with it alone for the first time in my life.
It happened last night.
I opened the bathroom door and came nose to body of a huge (to me) spider. I was proud of myself that I didn't scream or even burst into tears, I just pleaded with Gaia and the Green Man to give me the courage to deal with it alone for the first time in my life.
I opened the back door, gently scooped up the spider with my heart in my mouth and tears threatening to overflow from my eyes, it crawled out of my cupped hand and started walking over my wrist.
I gulped and took a huge breath to steady myself.
Caught it again with my other hand and kicked the bathroom door shut, stumbled to the back door and threw it outside then slammed the back door shut.
I hope it had a parachute!
I then came back in here and it hit me what I'd achieved.
I'd temporarily worked past the phobia and saved a small soul at the same time.
I was shaking like a leaf and I could feel the sensation of spiders crawling all over me, I was covered in goosebumps and I was absolutely petrified, but I'd done it! For the first time in over 4 decades, I'd saved a small soul from a watery grave and let it live for another day.
I hadn't screamed or yelled or cried but I'd been able to deal with it.
I'd really needed the help of my Deities and they got me through it.
